Due sono le maggiori potenze attive nello spazio, la Dorushia Military Pact Federation ed l?Atlantic Ring United States (ARUS), accanto a loro una piccola nazione neutrale Jioru è riuscita a sopravvivere e prosperare economicamente. Il protagonista dell?anime è Haruto Tokishima, uno studente liceale che vive su Jioru e finisce per imbattersi nella misteriosa arma umanoide ?Valvrave? nei giorni in cui l?esercito di Dorushia violandone la neutralità del suo stato lo invade.
